The Vancouver Canucks could be closer to naming a general manager. The team met with Boston Bruins assistant general manager Jim Benning on Wednesday about the vacant role. TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports that Benning is considered the frontrunner for the job. Dreger also reports that some believe that Canucks president Trevor Linden is waiting until the end of the second round of the playoffs to make an appointment.
