The Panthers top 6 wide receivers have always seemed set, with the others left to battle for practice squad spots. The former Tiger seems to have the leg up on the competition, as he’s been among the first of the reserves to see the field during the preseason contests and made the most of his opportunities. He’s caught 3 passes for 42 yards this preseason with two impressive touchdown catches on the end of Garrett Gilbert passes. There’s a chance that Hurney signed Paradis to a deal that’s easy to get out of after the first year if he can’t stay healthy. There’s also a chance that it’s a terrible contract that becomes an albatross if he gets hurt.
