COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Keepers Rodolfo Cota of Chivas de Guadalajara and Carlos Rodriguez of Club Morelia were outstanding in the second half, and the Liga MX sides played to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly Saturday night.The exhibition was in preparation for the Liga MX Apertura, which starts July 15.After an initial push by Chivas, Alejandro Gagliardi landed a nice counterpunch when he opened the scoring in the 36th minute for Morelia. Carlos Salcido responded with a precise free kick, evening the game moments before halftime.While the chances never slowed in the final 45 minutes, the scoring did. The keepers made sure of that with clutch -- and often spectacular -- saves down the stretch.Thousands of fans clad in jerseys cheered beneath massive club flags at Dicks Sporting Goods Park, the home of Major League Soccers Colorado Rapids. The 29-year-old keeper sprung down and to his left for the save.Not to be outdone, Rodriguez leapt off the ground to his left to snatch Javier Lopezs blast in the 77th minute.In the first half, Gagliardi, the Argentinian midfielder, showed precise touch, racing to the right side of the box before lifting a chance just over the outstretched arms of Cota into the top left corner of the goal to make it 1-0.Guadalajara responded to tie the game on a free kick in the 45th minute. Salcido looped a shot over a wall of defenders and just inside the left post to make it 1-1 heading into the half.After the game, a few players from each side trotted along the park barriers and signed autographs.
